A Nepal Trek that Empowers People with Disabilities

Are you looking for a unique and challenging way to make a difference in the lives of people with disabilities? Join us for the Gosaikunda Trek for Friendship Circle! This 10-day trek through the stunning Himalayas will offer you the opportunity to hike alongside Israeli-wounded soldiers while supporting both people with disabilities and Israeli-wounded soldiers. 

The Gosaikunda Trek is a moderate trek, but it is sure to be a rewarding experience. Along the way, you will see stunning views of the Manaslu range, Ganesh Himal range, Tibetan peaks, and Langtang Lirung. You will also get to experience the unique culture of Nepal and learn about the challenges faced by people with disabilities in this country. The minimum fundraising goal for this event is $7000 and the event will take place on March 20-30, 2024

How it works

Registration

Upon registering, you'll receive a personal fundraising page (yay!). It's not your name on a building (yet), but it's still pretty cool.

Training

Next, you'll get a training plan and weekly emails with training tips and tricks.

Fundraise

Our fundraising support is second to none. Count on us to provide you with effective tools and methods that guarantee success.

And while you're out there training and fundraising, we'll be taking care of all this stuff so you don't have to worry:

Lodging

Rest assured, we have you covered. Our event includes lodging throughout the schedule, including during the hike. Say goodbye to any worries we've got it all taken care of.

Food

From breakfast to snacks and even midnight treats, it's all taken care of. Come hungry! All meals will be strictly kosher and designed to provide hikers with sufficient energy for the hikes.

General Information

Inclusions

This trekking package includes an experienced and licensed English-speaking guide, accommodation in Kathmandu on twin sharing basis, all meals, all necessary paperwork and permits, all land transportation to trekking, a private helicopter from Gosaikunda to Kathmandu, and a trekking porter to carry your main luggage.

Exclusions

The following costs are not included in the trekking package: Nepalese visa fee, international airfare, travel insurance, personal trekking gear, personal expenses, tips to trekking staff, and all other costs that are not included in the itinerary.

Route Details

The Hike for Friendship Circle is a unique opportunity to experience the beauty of Nepal while also making a difference in the lives of people with disabilities. Participants will hike alongside Israeli wounded soldiers. The trek offers dramatic views of the Manaslu range, Ganesh Himal range, Tibetan peaks, and Langtang Lirung. The trek also passes by the three lakes of Gosaikunda, Saraswati Kunda, and Bhairab Kunda. The hike is a challenging but rewarding experience, and it is a chance to make a lasting impact on the lives of others.

Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport

Thursday | March 20
Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, and transfer to Hotel. Overnight at Kathmandu, Meals at Chabad.

Rest and Prepare

Friday | March 21
After breakfast, drive for a day sightseeing at various destinations in Kathmandu Valley (Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swoyambhu, Pashupatinath, Bouddhanath). Overnight at Kathmandu

Rest and Prepare

Saturday | March 22
On this day, rest and prepare for the trek. If necessary, provide assistance with purchasing/renting trekking gear. Overnight at Kathmandu, Meals at Chabad.

Drive to Dhunche

Sunday | March 23
Drive from Kathmandu to Dhunche (2,030m) by Minibus. (Option: If have time trek for 3-4 hours) Duration: 6-7 hours.
Overnight at Dhunche.

Trek from Dhunche to Chandanbari

Monday | March 24
Trek from Dhunche to Chandanbari, Sing Gompa
Duration: 3-4 hours
Overnight in Chandanbari.

Trek from Chandanbari to Laurebina

Tuesday |March 25
The trek from Chandanbari to Laurebina is a 2-3 hour hike that takes you through a scenic forest trail with views of the Langtang and Ganesh Himal mountains. Overnight accommodations are available in Laurebina, a small village located at an altitude of 3,920 meters.

Trek from Laurebina to Gosaikunda Lake

Wednesday | March 26
The trek from Laurebina to Gosaikunda Lake is a 2-3 hour hike that takes you through a scenic forest trail with views of the Langtang and Ganesh Himal mountains. Overnight accommodations are available in Gosaikunda, a holy lake located at an altitude of 4,380 meters.
