I am thrilled to be running my first marathon, and I am even more excited to share this journey with Friendship Circle, a cause that aligns with my passion for making a positive impact in the realm of mental health, as well as with my academic and professional pursuits. This organization aims to bring happiness and companionship to children and young adults with special needs by providing social and recreational activities, while also offering respite and support to their families.
I am in the first year of my doctorate program for Clinical Health Psychology, and in addition to my coursework and clinical training, I work in a lab dedicated to researching the biopsychosocial aspects of cancer. The profound impact that supportive communities and built connections can have, not only for those directly affected but also for their loved ones, has highlighted the necessity of providing these resources to those in need of them. Supporting Friendship Circle offers a tangible way for me to contribute to providing these resources to those who can benefit from them most.
Your support will make a meaningful difference in the lives of many families and will go directly to helping children with special needs build friendships and gain new experiences. I'll appreciate all the support I can get!
