Day 1: LAS VEGAS ARRIVAL AND TRANSFER TO ZION NATIONAL PARK
Making our way deep into Utah on this three-hour drive to Zion National Park, we will take in the incredible scenery of the American Southwest. After our first lunch in Springdale, we head to the trailhead for the Watchman Trail to stretch our legs on an introductory hike in the park. This out-and-back trail offers a moderate hike with fantastic views of some of the most famous features in the park including West Temple and Towers of the Virgin. Following our hike, we will spend a little time at the Zion Canyon Visitor Center which boasts an innovative Earth-friendly design. Our first afternoon in the park will leave you breathless and looking forward to our next hiking challenge.

Day 2: HIKE ANGELS LANDING
Our hike begins on the canyon floor with a steady climb up a wide path. Entering Refrigerator Canyon, we get a slight chance to cool off before we start the 21 switchbacks of Walters Wiggles. At Scouts Lookout, we get our first view of the last thrilling 500' of our climb. Here the trail narrows with drop-offs on either side. We’re assisted by chains embedded in the rock as we scramble up sandstone steps. Our final push brings us to the top with amazing views of Zion laid out below and beyond, making this challenging hike worth all the effort. After our hike, a refreshing swim in the Virgin River caps an unforgettable day!

With Covid-19 keeping things “fluid,” we’ve decided to go ahead with our annual hike trip because this year, our efforts are needed more than ever. That being said, we are making lots of Covid-related allowances for this trip. We’ll be working with an outfitter that’s part of the REI brand and will be adhering to their Covid-19 policies. REI’s current policy allows all guests to transfer or cancel reservations without penalty; for a list of full policies please click here.
